Jonathan Sanchez was born in Gainesville, Fla., on April 28, 1973. He grew up in Charlotte, N.C., graduated from West Charlotte High School and then Yale University. He came to Charleston in 1996 to work for the The Post and Courier newspaper, which he left to pursue his fiction and poetry. He lives in the Wagener Terrace neighborhood of uptown Charleston with his wife Lauren. He is a former mediocre triathlete.
